The early Chinese language trailer for John Woo’s upcoming remake of the legendary Battle of Red Cliff has arrived. This film is set in the late Han Dynasty and tells the story of fifty thousand soldiers who defeated an army of nearly one million. Although John Woo is notorious for making utter crap since the 1990s, this one doesn’t look as bad as Paycheck.
John Woo and Tony Leung are back for a new epic war film based on the Battle of the Red Cliffs (208-208 AD). This film is based on events that occurred during the end of the Han dynasty and the beginning of the Three Kingdoms period in Imperial China. The film is directed by John Woo and stars Tony Leung, Takeshi Kaneshiro, and Zhang Fengyi. It is Woo’s first major production since 2003’s Paycheck.
