In the movie, General Tapia possesses a Steyr SPP machine pistol that can fire on full auto. It is a modified version of the Steyr TMP. Tapia was able to convert this semi-automatic firearm into an automatic one with the help of a qualified armorer. His other weapons include a Micro Uzi semi-automatic pistol and a Ruger SR-25 semi-automatic rifle.
The Cuban Army soldiers carry Browning M2HB heavy machine guns and mock-up DShK rifles. The US Coast Guard helicopters and Miami Police Department also use M240Bs. They end the chase by blowing up the boat’s engine. The film also features a ‘paratrooper’ version of the M249 SAW with a telescoping stock.
In addition to the Smith & Wesson Performance Center Model 629 revolver used in the movie, the characters carry a variety of other weapons, including Glock handguns. Throughout the movie, several of the characters use a Glock-style handgun in an attempt to protect themselves and others.
